Biography

Justin Sinanan is a corporate lawyer and founding partner of Archipelago Law, bringing a perspective shaped by years at the highest levels of in-house legal practice in the Caribbean.

From his time as Vice President – Legal & Regulatory Affairs at SM Jaleel & Company Ltd — one of the Caribbean's most widely recognised beverage manufacturers, with a presence across the region and internationally — Justin has developed deep expertise in corporate governance, commercial contracting, regulatory compliance, and the management of complex, multi-stakeholder legal matters across a large regional enterprise. His role placed him at the intersection of business strategy and legal risk, advising leadership on transactions, employment matters, and regulatory issues spanning multiple jurisdictions.

Prior to his senior in-house career, Justin trained in private practice at the Chambers of Kerwyn Garcia and at Radiant Law, where he developed his foundation in commercial legal advisory and managed legal services.

His in-house background means he advises clients not merely on legal technicalities, but on the practical commercial and operational realities that businesses face — making him an exceptionally effective counsel for regional enterprises, multinationals, and entrepreneurs expanding across the Caribbean.

Justin's current private practice client base reflects his regional standing: clients include the Premier of St. Maarten, one of the world's largest cinematic animation companies, prominent influencers such as Certified Sampson, the Junior Sammy Group of Companies, a major construction firm operating across Trinidad and Guyana, and RUBIS Guyana Inc.

Beyond private practice, Justin is a part-time tutor at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine and the Hugh Wooding Law School. He is also the founder of The Voice Initiative, a non-governmental organisation in Trinidad and Tobago dedicated to pro bono family law services. Through this initiative, he and his team have completed over 250 pro bono divorces, secured more than 60 protection orders for vulnerable individuals, and successfully removed two minors from unsafe environments.
